DNS stands for Domain Name Service. DNS is a directory that matches the names of the websites with their IP addresses. DNS is a framework that allows human to browse internet while making it human readable. Each website has it’s own ip address that is made up with numbers. Since its almost impossible for humans to memorize so many numbers to access each website, they have a name which is more easy for humans to remmeber. So, when a name of a website is searched on the internet, the name of the website is matched with the ip address of the website and then the website is displayed on the screen. The website can be accessed by searching either ip address of the website or the domain name. Everyone uses DNS protocol on daily bases without even noticing or realizing. DNS has made it so much easier to access the websites today.
